English and Maths CPD Series

We’re very excited to invite you to our free series of English and Maths CPD events for 2024/25!

For our English sessions, we’re thrilled to welcome back Lance Hanson, an experienced English teacher, leader, examiner, and facilitator, for another fantastic series of professional development events. We’re also very excited to introduce facilitators Andy Burton, of the Central Maths Hub and Su O’Donohoe, Senior Lecturer of PGCE Secondary Maths at the University of Worcester. Andy and Su will be speaking on a wide range of topics within the Maths classroom.

English events:

  • FULLY BOOKED AQA GCSE English Language: Stretching to Grade 7 and Beyond, 28 February 2025, Aston University
  • Oracy in the English Classroom, 21 March 2025, University of Birmingham

Maths events:

  • Addressing SEN in the Mathematics Classroom, 11 April 2025, University College Birmingham
  • The Problem with Problem Solving (using GCSE exam data to identify gaps in the curriculum), 20 June 2025, University of Worcester
  • Developing Oracy in Mathematics, date TBC, Birmingham City University

  • Registration: Delegates must fill out the registration form individually.
  • Approval: Ensure you have line manager or SLT sign-off before registering.
  • Schedule: All events take place 09:30 – 15:00, with breaks and lunch provided.
  • Cost: All sessions are FREE to attend.
